Beautiful midlands reception of Imraan and Tasneem. Imraan and Tasneem were so free-spirited during the entire wedding reception and creative shoot. They were willing to take their images despite the heavy downpour and it paid off with some great images.

Johannesburg wedding photography | Marcel and Kimera

Venue | Makiti, Cradle of Humankind

Make-up artist | Beauty by Benazir @beautybybenazir

Johannesburg wedding photographer | Jay Pillay Photography

Marcel and Kimera booked me as their wedding photographer early in 2016 and from that first meeting I knew we were going to have a blast together. I was especially looking forward to shooting their wedding at Makiti Venue and Lodge in Johannesburg, as I had heard it was an amazing venue to photograph at. Nestled alongside the cradle of humankind in Maropeng, it gave birth to Marcel and Kimera's wedded life.

We did their engagement shoot at Lethabo Estate and although it was quite the journey getting there, with rocky terrain and dirt roads, the result was well worth the trip as the landscape was beautiful.

Makiti held true to its reputation and proved to be an excellent wedding venue on many fronts. The event organisation was super efficient and assuring in that our wedding co-ordinator was always there to guide the bridal couple and cater to our requests as the photography and videography team. The venue was picturesque, serene, peaceful and surprisingly luscious for this time of year.

The wedding went on without a glitch and even though I would have loved to get more of the golden sunset light, I managed to get some stunning images. I can't even say I was working with Marcel and Kimera during the creative shoot, they were so bubbly, extroverted and free spirited that we just had pure fun during the shoot.
